ShopNashvilleGifts.com Features Local, International Products; Christmas Orders Due Dec. 15
Nashville couple Martha Lupai and Alex Sekwat are offering holiday shoppers a taste of Tennessee with the launch of Nashville Gift Company, their online store at shopnashvillegifts.com.
Nashville Gift Company features a wide variety of Tennessee made products, including Lupai’s beauty line Neta’s Natural and grocery brand A&M Marketplace. Shoppers can also order locally crafted condiments such as spreads and hot sauces, as well as coffees, teas and spices from around the world, and themed gift sets. The online store also offers accessories handmade by women artisans in Africa. The deadline to order for Christmas delivery is December 15, 2021.

Lupai and Sekwat, who have lived in Nashville for more than 20 years, also own the grocery store A&M Marketplace, located inside the Nashville Farmers’ Market at 900 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. Lupai previously owned S&E African Hair Braiding Salon at 2719 Jefferson Street. She is currently renovating this space to open it as a market.
Opening Nashville Gift Company has been a dream of Lupai’s for a long time. For years, she envisioned owning a store that would be similar to Whole Foods Market, but which would allow her to celebrate her African heritage and support businesswomen in her homeland.
Her dream is now a reality. Nashville Gift Company’s initial “African Roots” collection is now available in the online store, and it features colorful necklaces that were hand made by women in Ethiopia.
Lupai also operates Neta’s Foundation, a 501(c)(3) named after her daughter, and which provides annual scholarships to at-risk youth in Ethiopia and South Sudan. Lupai donates a portion of her profits to the foundation. Supporters can contribute to Neta’s Foundation at ShopNashvilleGifts.com.
